Cheap Prom DressesIf you're looking to save money on a prom dress, try going with short instead of long and shopping at a discount store or resale shop. If you have friends at other schools considering borrowing a dress from them. No one will have seen the dress at your school.

Cheap Prom DressesAlso if you know a good seamstress, you can sometimes have dresses made cheaper than you can buy them. Check out sewing stores and online sites for pattern books or get someone who is interested in fashion design to sketch a drawing for you. Some seamstresses are good enough to be able to look at a picture and sew the dress.

You can also take a very plain dress and glue or sew on rhinestones, pearls or jewels (get at a craft store) and make your own unique pattern.

Cheap Prom DressesYou can save money on shoes also by going to a discount store (ex Payless, Target or Ross Dress for Less). Again, you also may be able to borrow from a friend. You can also go buy a pair of white canvas tennis shoes and decorate them yourself and be really unique.
